Realtor®
Phillip Manuel was licensed by the Louisiana Real Estate Commission in July of 2017 and is a proud member of Witry Collective. Phillip is a New Orleans native with an acute knowledge of the city’s topography, its culture and its neighborhoods. He understands that each neighborhood has its own distinct style and he uses this knowledge to provide buyers with informed insight and analysis. “This helps them decide not only which home best fits their needs but also which community might best suit their personal style,” he says.
Phillip credits his transition into real estate to his upbringing in uptown New Orleans and to his grandmother whose since of style and sophistication helped develop his own love for home decor, plants and landscaping. “We lived in a large house on Valence St. with my grandmother. It had a huge yard and a long, rambling garden filled with azaleas and backed by large yew bushes. My grandmother loved flowers and she would often clip them right off the bushes in the garden and make these wonderful centerpieces for our dining room table,” Phillip said. Phillip says he remembers holiday parties his grandmother would host and how she would decorate the house. “What I remember most were these elegant place settings laid out on the dining room table using her finest china and flatware.” Phillip said it lit a spark in him that would evolve into a love for decorating and design. He now uses these skills to advise clients on landscaping, staging and decorating their homes to sell.
In addition to his career in real estate, Phillip is a recognized singer, recording artist, actor and voice talent. He has performed with some of the world’s leading jazz artists. Performing since the age of 11, Phillip recorded his first record at 16. In his early 20s’ he would meet legendary New Orleans song writer and producer Allen Toussaint and become a regular session singer on many of Toussaint’s productions including albums by Patti Labelle and Fats Domino. Phillip recorded his first full disc, A Time for Love in 1992 for the AFO label in New Orleans. Between 1994 and 1997 Phillip toured with trumpeter and film composer Terence Blanchard in support of two Sony releases by Blanchard that featured vocals. In 1999 Phillip recorded his much loved Christmas CD, Swingin’ in the Holidays. Phillip’s mellifluous vocal style would eventually attract the attention of the MAXJAZZ label based in St. Louis. Phillip was signed to the label and recorded Love Happened to me in 2002 to critical acclaim. In 2008, Phillip would switch lanes and record his first R&B/Neo Soul CD simply titled PM. In addition, Phillip has performed with symphony orchestras around the country. As a voice talent Phillip has hundreds of radio, television, video and documentary credits. He has appeared in, provided voice characters or sung on the soundtracks for a number of film projects and movies produced in New Orleans, including Camera Store, Last Laugh and Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween.
Finally, Phillip is an accomplished writer and media producer who has worked on some of the city’s most iconic public relations and advertising campaigns. In 2004, Phillip was pegged by local PR veteran Bill Rouselle who hired him as his company’s lead writer and media producer. Phillip has written and produced hundreds of radio, television and video productions for many political campaigns, businesses, non-profits and others. His voice can be heard on countless local productions.
In May of 2018 Phillip completed the Ninja Installation, and intensive sales training and life skills program for high achievers. He uses the skills and processes taught in the course to provide his clients with the highest quality service.
