Brett moved to New Orleans in July of 2005 to work with his mentor and agent, Martha Ann Samuel, who had inspired him to get his real estate license while he was living in South Florida. Having previously lived in Chicago and Los Angeles, he had become enamored with the architecture, history and culture unique to each city and had envisioned himself living in New Orleans for many years. In August, New Orleans was devastated by the massive flooding as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Without question, Brett decided to stay and help rebuild his new home city. He lived in Bywater for twelve years and came to specialize in historic homes and neighborhoods, earning his Historic House Specialist designation in 2009 from the Preservation Resource Center. Brett has been the recipient of several New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors® Platinum Awards and is consistently named in CityBusiness as a top real estate agent. His venture as broker and owner of the Witry Collective is one of his proudest accomplishments to date.
