Real Estate and Wellness go hand in hand. Buying (and selling) a home has been said to be one of the most stressful endeavors of modern times. Stress is incredibly taxing on your body and mind, leaving you more susceptible to illnesses, feeling emotionally/physically drained, forgetful and not being present, allowing for avoidable mistakes or clumsiness to spiral.
Although stress is inevitable to some degree, you have options to reduce your physical, mental and emotional reactions. Some turn to exercise to increase endorphins, reading stories or listening to music to tune out, cooking, baking or crafting…another option that we’ve enjoyed is practicing Yoga or Meditating.
Yoga and Meditation allow you to reconnect and realign with yourself. The practice has various levels and meanings from just a simple workout to increase blood flow, to more existential offerings, all delivering a form of stress or anxiety reducing elements. Some see Yoga as a foreign concept, but if you’re curious and feeling overwhelmed, I’d start with a simple meditation, like the one shared here.
This is a 30-minute guided meditation to assist in finding your calm, reducing stress/anxiety and increasing blood flow, raising cognitive awareness. Hosted by Julie Holman, Owner and Founder of Bona Fide Yoga & Wellness. Julie has been practicing Yoga for nearly 25 years since her first excursion through India. She’s been teaching and offering guidance for 10+ years and is certified in a variety of healing modalities by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA). In addition to her holistic studies, Julie has 30+ years in the field as a Hospice & Palliative Nurse, she’s also a weekly host/producer of the Independent Voices local NOLA radio show on WHIV 102.3 FM radio.
This 30-minute guided meditation can be used as a tool to reflect back on during stressful moments in life or adapted more frequently in a weekly/daily affirmation to set your intentions.
